Material Confirmation
Confirm whether the product is pure PMMA or a PMMA/ABS composite. The material structure should be clearly identified in the quotation and technical documentation.
Thickness and Dimensional Accuracy
Review the specified thickness tolerance, sheet dimensions, and inspection procedures. Consistent specifications help reduce unexpected adjustments during production.
Surface Appearance and Color Consistency
Inspect the sheet for visible scratches, inclusions, color differences, and uneven surface gloss. Approved color samples can help establish a clear reference for future orders.
Real-World Forming Tests
Where possible, test the material using the manufacturer’s actual equipment or representative molds. Practical testing provides more useful information than judging a sheet by appearance alone.
Long-Term Supply Reliability
Consider production planning, batch management, packaging protection, and the supplier’s approach to handling quality issues. Sample approval should be followed by appropriate controls for bulk production.
For reference, ISO 7823-1 covers requirements for non-modified cast polymethyl methacrylate sheets. Specific sanitary ware applications may require additional product specifications and application-based testing.
